Let us start with what color is the best to wear on your first date!
According to a survey conducted on the best colors to wear on a date, Black came in as the winner. Men mostly liked women in Red best. Blue is a suitable color as well for both men and women on first date. The colors to absolutely avoid on a first date are orange and brown.
- Be who you are:
Stay true to yourself. You don’t have to go buy a new dress to impress your date. You can wear whatever you own. First date is not the apt time to try on a new look. The best thing you can do is, wear what best suits you which you already own. Everyone has that one outfit they look and feel extra good in.
- Be comfortable with what you wear
Fashion is for two purposes: Comfort and Love. When you ask any style expert or a celebrity they would choose comfort over style any day. A person looks their best when they are comfortable in what they wear!
Say you have decided to go to an all you can eat buffet or a fancy restaurant that has the best food and of course who can forget the ice cream that is a must after your main course then that won’t be an apt time to wear a bodycon dress or a really tight fitted shirt. You should dress for comfort.
Your choice of footwear is also very important, you cannot over do it. Unless you have planned out a really fancy dinner or going to a nightclub to party. This is the time to wear something on the sexier side, if you want. But whatever you choose, make sure it’s comfortable.
If you do go straight from work, choose an outfit that can transition from the office to happy hour with just a few tweaks, this way, even if you do talk about your jobs, you won’t have work stress on the brain the whole night. A simple skirt, camisole, and blazer is a great choice. All you have to do is, take of your blazer and you are good to go!
Here are a few questions you can ask yourself !!
If you aren’t sure which of your clothes look good on you, ask yourself the following questions.
- Which items tend to get you compliments from friends and co-workers?
- Which items do you wear time and again because they make you feel good when you stand in front of the mirror?
If your old favorites still make you feel great but are getting a little worn out you can hit the shops to find a decent replacement. But don’t forget that a lot can be achieved with a good steam iron, a smart coat and some well-chosen accessories.
On a practical level, go for items that will be comfortable in a date environment. That means breathable fabrics, garments that don’t restrict your movements, and shoes that don’t need to be worn in.
Whatever you end up wearing on that important first date, just remember these rules:
- If you’re not buying new, make sure your clothes are freshly washed and pressed. Get suits and formal dresses dry-cleaned, and take the time to properly iron shirts and blouses!
- Polish your shoes
- Make an effort with your hair – if it’s looking in need of TLC get a trim before your big night
- Clean and trim your nails (and toenails)
- Avoid those baggy grey pants and go for some undergarments that are a little easier on the eye – you never know where the night may lead you !
